Thank you to everyone who made ImagiNation 2010: Writers’ Festival a success! Together we  explored new themes and discovered a whole new side to literature through history, poetry, music, kid’s events and more!

The Morrin Centre organized a five day long Writers’ Festival called imagiNation 2010: Writers’ Festival, which took place from April 7 to 11 2010 in Old Quebec. Under the honorary presidency of Neil Bissoondath, the numerous events celebrated 11 other Canadian authors and poets from across the country, as well as five Mexican authors.

The Canadian authors who took part in the festival were Neil Bissoondath, George Elliot Clarke, Karen Connelly, Guy Delisle, Camilla Gibb, Lawrence Hill, Mireille Levert, Alistair MacLeod, Jeffrey Moore, Heather O’Neill, Karolyn Smardz-Frost and France Cayoutte. The Mexican authors, brought in by the Salon International du Livre, were: Monica Brozon, Rafael Lemus, Fabio Morabito, Antonio Parra and Francisco Hinojosa.

Morrin Library The festival, which is sponsored by Canadian Heritage and Canada Council for the Arts, partnered up with the Salon International du Livre de Québec and the Festival de la bande dessinée francophone de Québec, both of which ran at the same time. Partners included La Maison Anglaise, who hosted a booth at the Salon du Livre. The Théâtre des Gros Becs also presented a puppet show and workshop for kids.
